Storm Smart Receives Award from Governor Charlie Crist

FORT MYERS, FLORIDA:  The annual Governor’s Hurricane Conference Awards Banquet, held in Fort Lauderdale on May 16, concluded with Fort Myers-based Storm Smart Industries receiving the ‘Corporate Award’ presented to Storm Smart Industries President Brian Rist. PGT Industries, Storm Smart’s Venice-based window manufacturing vendor, also shared in this award.

Nominated by staff members of the Lee County Emergency Operations Center, Storm Smart was selected due to its “substantial contributions to hurricane preparedness, response, recovery and research in the State of Florida.”

“It’s a true privilege to receive such a distinguished award,” said Rist upon receiving the award. “On behalf of the 165 members of the Storm Smart team, I thank Governor Crist for such an honor, and offer our thanks as well to our local community for their support. It is nice to know that corporate responsibility doesn’t always go unrecognized. May we continue to build a stronger, safer Florida.”
